District to begin school year remote, first day Sept. 8
Skip to main content

Families, along with your student athlete, need to complete an athletic registration form each year. This may be done through online registration. In addition to the forms, the student will need a current sports physical on file.

More information:

  • After completing the online registration forms, your student will need to be cleared for each sports season at their school’s athletics office.
  • A sports physical exam and signed form is required. Sports physicals are valid for two years (24 months) from the date of the exam. The physical must be valid for the entire sports season. The sports physical form is available on the district website or the school office.
  • The ASB (Associated Student Body) fee of $10 is required. This is a one- time fee each school year. The ASB fee payment envelope is available in the school office or payments may be made online: https://onlinepayments.bellinghamschools.org/. Questions regarding online payments, please call (360) 676-6541.

A Word or Two from Mrs. Foster:

Shuksan’s Young Author Club is an official ASB (Associated Student Body) club. The advisor, Mrs. Foster, is a published author, writing under two pen names, in two genres with two publishers, and has been professionally published since 2003. Mrs. Foster writes paranormal romances and urban fantasies. Mrs. Foster chooses not to share too much about her published works, because the club’s intent is to focus on the students and development of their craft.

During the 2017-18 school year the students of Shuksan’s Young Authors completed a novella entitled, “Save da Unicorns.” It will be available as an ebook on Amazon.com soon. All proceeds from sales will be donated to the local animal shelter. The cover was partially done by one of the student writers and is being finished by a professional cover artist (www.graphicfantastic.com).

This year a theme will be chosen by the students and again, a novella will be completed. The creation of a book-length piece immerses students in the writing practices of using “goals, motivation and conflict” as their key.

“Save da Unicorns” is nearing final approvals to be uploaded to Amazon. It is in line edits right now.  Currently we are working on a Choose your Own Adventure book. Each student is writing multiple paths.
