Overview: SPORTS at Shuksan

We invite all students to participate in these sports:

  • Fall, Sept 12-Nov 2 — Unified Bowling, Soccer & Track All Grades
  • Pre-Winter, Nov 14- Jan 23 — Dance & Tumbling All Grades, Boys Basketball Gr 7-8, Unified Coed Basketball (Gr 6-8, all students)
  • Winter, Jan 31 – Mar 24 — Wrestling & Girls Volleyball Gr 7-8
  • Spring, Apr 11 – Jun 1 — Unified Soccer, Cross Country & Girls Basketball All Grades, Football Gr 7-8

When are practices? Monday – Friday from 3:45-5:30pm.  Pracitces will not be held on early release days and non-student dayss

When are games?  Coaches will hand out game schedules for each sport the first week of practice.

How do we sign up? Online Registration via FinalForms

Registration: To participate in sports,  student-athletes need to update their information on FinalForms*Final Forms must be completed to participate*  FinalForms. There are forms that require both student and parent/guardian signatures. Questions?  Email Esmeralda Ortiz

Families that are new to middle school or to Bellingham Public Schools should expect to receive an email from FinalForms sometime in July. This email will include instructions on creating a password in FinalForms and beginning the registration process.  Both parents and students need to login and sign up/fill out paperwork.

 

In addition to the forms, your student will need a current sports physical on file. The sports physical cannot expire during the sport season and is required for the student to participate in athletics. You can get a sports physical from your regular health care provider Here are some local resources if you need assistance:

Traditionally, sports teams practice after school from 3:45-5:00 and play other middle school teams. The season usually lasts about 7 weeks. Participation is free.

ASB Cards:

ASB Cards are provided to students free of charge but are required for participation in activities and athletics. Students can get an ASB card from their school office.
